Once the Create New spreadsheet opens it allows the option of using the Templates spreadsheets or a Blank Spreadsheet. Tap the spreadsheet labeled Blank. The following blank spreadsheet opens.
Row 1 is grey called a Header Row and Column A is also grey called a Header Column. By default this Table occurs first. The Header Row and Header Column are frozen. Great if used for Labels that will remain visual whilst moving around the spreadsheet. There are options to change to different Tables prior to entering any data into the spreadsheet. To do this look at the icons above the spreadsheet and tap icon that looks like a Paintbrush. A menu opens as per the image below. The following Menu options are now available. The following image shows the options available once the Header label has opened.
Unfreeze Columns and Rows.
Tap the + sign on the Header Row to freeze 2 Rows or tap the - sign and remove the Header Row. If the Header Row and Header Column are at 0 then the blank spreadsheet will be similar to an Excel default blank spreadsheet in appearance. Tap the Freeze Rows and Freeze Columns to the left of the slider to ensure all Rows and Columns are unfrozen. The spreadsheet will now appear as the image below.Tap anywhere into the spreadsheet and the format menu will disappear. Data can be entered into the cells of the spreadsheet. Should Header Rows or Header Columns need to be frozen in the future, then tap the Paintbrush Icon, Headers and freeze the number of Rows or Columns desired.
